Albert M. Simmons, age 80, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022. He was born on August 12, 1942 in Dahlonega to the late Cicero Simmons and the late Tempia Lowman Simmons. Albert was best described as a simple man with simple pleasures. He was a truck driver and when he was not on the road, he loved to watch old westerns- especially "Gunsmoke". His family will forever remember him as a loving husband and father.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Junior Simmons and Harold Southern; sister Murrell Bearden; and great granddaughter Alyssa Mae Sullens.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Sue Simmons of Dahlonega; children Lori (Freddy) Rodriguez of Columbia, SC and Wesley Simmons of Arlington, VA; brother Robert Simmons of Dahlonega; grandchildren David Sullens, Dustin Sullens, Brittany Sullens and Michael Sullens; 7 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive.

It was Albert's wish to be cremated. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Lyman Caldwell officiating.
