Alma Virginia "Nook" Morgan, age 83, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 26, 2026.
Born to the late Earl Sanford and Edna Sanford, Alma lived a life centered on family, hard work, and simple joys. Alma enjoyed quilting and spent countless hours creating handmade quilts for those she loved. She found great happiness in caring for her family and treasured every opportunity to be surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and the many generations that followed.
In addition to her parents, Alma was preceded in death by her brothers, Earl Sanford, Jr. "Brother", Horace Sanford, and John Sanford; her sisters, Thelma Edwards "Sister" and Earlene Hicks "Coon"; her husbands, Louie Boatfield and James Morgan; and her beloved son, James G. Sanford "Jimbo".
She is survived by her loving daughter, Virginia "Sissy" Bryan (Freddie); her grandchildren, Jody Bryan (Jessica), Jessica Walker (Bobby), Jennifer Wiley, and Jesse Wiley; her great-grandchildren, Heather Bingham (Nathan), Joseph Bingham (Jana), Ryan Bingham, and Jesse J. Wiley, Jr. (Emily); her cherished great-great-grandchildren, Sylvia Gaines, Scarlett Gaines, Silas Voyles, Saige Waddle, Colton Wiley, Oaklyn Wiley, Cerinity Wiley, Parker Jacobs, and Brady Jacobs; and her beloved niece and nephews, Tenny, Tank, and Todd. She also leaves behind many other extended family members, and friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Alma's legacy is one of love, kindness, and devotion to her family. Whether through the quilts she lovingly stitched by hand or the care she showed to those around her, she left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Private family services will be held at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home.
