Mr. Thomas Alton Head, age 81, of Dahlonega, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2024.  Alton was born on March 21, 1943, to the late Homer and Cora McDonald Head.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved son, Aaron Head, and brothers, Lavon Head and Jerry Head.

Alton had a love for the outdoors and could often be found enjoying long walks, gardening and planting sunflowers, and building and working on projects. However, his greatest joy was his family. His heart overflowed with love for his grandchildren, who lovingly called him "Grandpa."

Alton's family always knew how much they meant to him, not only through his words but by the way he spoke of them with pride to anyone who would listen. He delighted in sharing the happiness they brought him.

Survivors include his cherished grandchildren, Athan Joseph Head and Andrew Joshua Head; daughter-in-law Maricela Head; brothers Russell Head and Neal Head (Joyce); several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Yahoola Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Lyman Caldwell officiating.
