Barbara Sue Bishop, age 70, of Dawsonville, GA, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014, at Embracing Hospice in Cumming, GA. Barbara was born in Dahlonega, GA October 13, 1944 and lived most of her life in Dawson County. She was the daughter of the late Terrell "Duck" Thurmond and Aileen Odom Thurmond and was also preceded in death by her son, Brian Bishop. Barbara is survived by her children, John "Bo: Bishop, Brandie Broad, and Amanda Bishop; grandchildren, Tristan, Cameron, and O'Ryan Broad; sister, Carolyn Cantrell. A number of other relatives also survive. A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.
