Barbara Ann
Tronsgard
December 15, 2023
Barbara Ann Tronsgard, Woman, Mother, Sister, Sage, Grandmother, Teacher, Harpist, Organist, Knitter, Weaver, Quilter, Warrior, and Fashion Icon, boarded the long-awaited Holy Land Express into Eternity on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 9 pm. She was 83.
Receiving her BSN from the University of North Dakota, she loved caring for others, whether in the ER, In Pediatrics, Rehab, or Psych, her intrinsic sense of compassion and empathy shone and propelled her into excellence. Barbara went on to earn her master's degree in nursing from Saint Xavier College in Chicago and led groundbreaking efforts in pediatric and home health care in the state of Illinois. Barbara moved to Dahlonega, GA in 1991 to teach Nursing at North Georgia College, changing herself, her family, and the town, forever. Over the last 30 years there, she taught and mentored countless students, offered advice and counsel, worked late hours in nursing homes, and cemented her contribution to her craft and her community. Barbara was the "Ole Crone", always laughing, ready to defend the defenseless, right all wrongs, and had the strength to do it.
Waving goodbye from the station are her sons, Peter (Wife, Piper), Brett, and Brady. Daughters, Susan (Husband, Herman) Pearson, and Toby Weisman, and grandchildren, Hannah, Elise, and Cole Pearson.
