Bas Oskam, age 96, of Dahlonega, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at home. He was surrounded by his family having succumbed to cancer.

Bas was born on September 16, 1928 in Hilversum, The Netherlands to T.W. Oskam and Anna Kapp Oskam. He was educated in Rotterdam, The Netherlands and was married on June 30, 1955 to Eva E. Castor of Oberwesel, Germany. They moved the same year to the United

He and his wife Elly enjoyed traveling the U.S.A. in their camper; hiking, canoeing and also exploring the Northwest Territory, Newfoundland and Labrador. Throughout the years, they travelled to Europe visiting family.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Elly, two children, two grandchildren, four great grandchildren, a brother, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
