Mrs. Bertha Grizzle Gooch, age 85, of Dahlonega passed away Friday, August 20, 2021.

Mrs. Gooch was born on July 2, 1936, to the late Raleigh and Annie Moose Grizzle. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings Edgar Grizzle, Charlie Grizzle, Ellie Calhoun, Larry Grizzle, and Paul Grizzle. Mrs. Gooch worked many years at Pinetree. She loved gardening and canning her vegetables. "Granny Bert" loved spending time with her family, especially during the holidays with all the love and joy that holidays bring. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons Dennis (Marie) Gooch of Dahlonega, Dale (Kim) Gooch of Dahlonega, and Dwayne Gooch of Panama City, FL; grandchildren Brian Gooch, Jon (Lacey) Gooch, Kendra (Nick) Thomas, Karlie (Chase) Harkins, and Khloe Gooch; three great-grandchildren; and sisters Carrie Robinson of Athens, and Nell Simmons of Dahlonega; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, August 23, 2021, at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Kris Butler and the Rev. Terry Head will officiate. Interment will follow in the Yahoola Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
