Obituary

Mrs. Bertie Mae Fields, age 85, of Dahlonega passed away Friday, May 15, 2020.

Mrs. Fields was born in Lumpkin County on April 4, 1935 to the late Wilburn and Cellia Jarrard Grizzle. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Rev. JR Fields; son Rev. Terry Fields; brothers Fred Grizzle and Emory Grizzle; sisters Berbie Seabolt, Jean Brown, Edna Moose and Cona Dyer.  Bertie Mae was a loving mother and faithful wife. She served along side her husband and provided support during his ministry. Bertie Mae loved music and was instrumental in starting choirs in several churches. She had worked at the Smith House, Danny's Restaurant, the Lumpkin County School System, and the University of North Georgia. Bertie Mae was a member of Siloam Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Ricky and Sheri Fields; daughter-in-law Gina Fields, all of Dahlonega; grandchildren Rodney and Crystal Fields, Blake and Kayela Fields, Chad Fields, and Madison Fields; great-grandchildren Malachi Fields, Caroline Fields, Coleman Fields, Dalton Miles, and Jaden Gilstrap; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 19, 2020 in Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Terry Head and Mr. Jeff Brown will officiate.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
