Mrs. Betty Ruth Mason, age 64, of Dahlonega passed away Friday, August 13, 2021.

Betty was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. She was born on August 8, 1957, to the late Vernon and Lula Peck Sullens. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings Joseph Sullens, Dorothy Lingerfelt, Ray Sullens, and JoAnne Hughes. Betty was a graduate of Lumpkin County High School. She could be found greeting her friends and customers at Pierce's Convenient Store where she worked. Betty was a member of Bethel Tabernacle Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Kenneth Mason; son Kevin Mason; daughter Sally Mason; daughter and son-in-law Carrie and Jordan White, all of Dahlonega; grandchildren Joseph Anderson, Isack Anderson, River Mason, Dewey Mason, Ollie Mason, Elizabeth White, and Carly White; brothers Fred Sullens, and Ode Sullens; brothers and sisters-in-law Bobby and Sandy Sullens, Florida, Billy and Nancy Sullens, Gainesville, and Stanley and Ogie Sullens, Macon; sisters and brothers-in-law Margaret and Claude Trammell, and Veronia and Cletis Castleberry; sisters Geraldine McKinney, and Pattie Hester, all of Dahlonega; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, August 16, 2021, at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Lyman Caldwell and the Rev. Roger Abernathy will officiate. Interment will follow in Philippi Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Sunday and from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour Monday at the funeral home.
