Betty Jean Rider Grizzle, age 77, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Monday, June 30, 2014 at the Habersham County Medical Center. She was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County and of the Baptist Faith. She retired after working in food service at the Lumpkin County Detention Center. Betty was the daughter of the late Cisero and Flossie Lance Rider, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Grizzle; son-in-law, Pat Jones; brothers and sisters-in-law, Boyd and Cindi Rider, Glenn and Madge Rider, Judge Rider; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Faye and Fred Fitts, Hazel Calhoun, and Louise and Voyce Harkins. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Hilda and Bobby Eury, Dahlonega, GA; daughter, Shelia Jones, Cleveland, GA; brother and sister-in-law, James and Kathy Rider; sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Joe Waters, all of Dahlonega, GA; grandchildren, Betty and Dee Chester, Briana Eury, Tyler and Cyndi Jones, and Gus and Sage Jones; great grandchildren, Skyler and Raven Chester, and Kaylee and Ansley Jones. A number of other relatives also survive. Funeral services for Betty are scheduled for 2 PM Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA. Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate. Interment will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega from 4 PM until 9 PM on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, and from 10 AM until service time on Thursday, July 3, 2014.
