Mary Blanche Hayes, age 96 of Dahlonega, passed away on Saturday, October, 3rd, 2026. She was born on August 13th, 1930, to the late Rev. “Ance” Miller and Elizabeth Burnette Miller.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her siblings; Doyle Miller, Bonelle Satterfield, Delbert Miller, Eldon Miller, Bessie Miller, Ozelle Carder, and A.J Miller as well as son-in-law, Russell Grizzle.

She is survived by her children; Gail Grizzle, Ricky Hayes(Susan), Wanda Harkins(Craig), grandchildren; Deana Butler(Kris), Dana Smith(Brandon), Deidra Pham(Sunny), Greg Hayes(Leah), Kody Harkins, sisters-in-law; Doris Miller and Linda Miller as well as 11 great grandchildren, Josh Hayes, Hannah Dunson, Brooks Hayes, Matthew Hayes, Abby Butler, Cason Smith, Cooper Smith, Canton Smith, Brooklyn Pham, Harper Pham, Kallie Pham and 6 great-great grandchildren, Jax, River, Hayeslee, Silas, Dayton, and Rilynn.

Blanche was raised in a christian home and accepted Jesus as her Lord and savior when she was 12 years old. She was a member of Nimblewill Baptist Church for 84 years. She served God with her whole heart. It was very important to her that her children come to know Jesus as their savior and made sure to take them to church. One summer revival all 3 of her children came to know Jesus as their savior on the same day.

Blanche was known as “Nanny” to her grandchildren. She spent most of her later years helping to care for them. All her children, grandchildren and great grand children loved her very much. Her great-grandson Cason was so devoted to her helping drive her to town and around helping care for her.

The family will receive friends at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home from 5:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday, October 6th, 2026.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm at Nimblewill Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Mrs. Hayes will lie in state at the church from 1pm until the funeral service.
