Mrs. Bonnie Lou Wimpy, age 88 of Dahlonega, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017.
Mrs. Wimpy was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. She was born on November 27, 1928 to the late John Harvest Samuel and Ollie Lee Saine. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Pat W. Wimpy; step-mother Lois Saine, and sister in law Margie Saine. Mrs. Wimpy worked as a custodian for 21 at Lumpkin County High School. She was the oldest living member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Wimpy greatly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren who affectionately called her "Granny Wimpy".
Survivors include her son and daughter in law Kenny and Coletis Wimpy, Dahlonega; daughters and sons in law Lynda and Mason Chadwick, Ball Ground; Brenda and Robert Trammell, Dahlonega; Patsy and Mike Ferguson, Dahlonega; Lou and Ricky Stewart, Kennesaw; brothers Guy Saine, Gainesville; Roy Saine, Dahlonega; Loy Saine, Dahlonega; grandchildren Tammy Ray, Ashley Lee, Matt Wimpy, Dewayne Pinion, Sherry Waddell; great grandchildren Daniel Pinion, Lilie Pinion, Kooper Pinion, Riley Lee, Kendal Lee, Ryan Kate Lee, Xander Wimpy, Breelan Waddell; brothers and sisters in law Guy and Christina Saine, Gainesville; Loy and Louise Saine, Dahlonega; and brother Roy Saine, Dahlonega.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 AM Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Lyman Caldwell, The Rev. Kris Butler, and The Rev. Nick Rice will officiate. Interment will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Friday and 9-11AM Saturday at the funeral home.
