Bruce "Skeeter"
Ellis Howe
October 24, 1945 – May 8, 2026
Bruce "Skeeter" Ellis Howe, age 80, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026.
Mr. Howe was born on October 24, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Harold Howe and the late Marilyn Downs Howe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Becky Leach, his best friend, Dr. Ray Rensi, and his former wife, Barbara Ann Grugin.
Bruce was a creative and unique individual who never stopped thinking, learning, and exploring new ideas. He was incredibly intelligent, exceptionally well-read, and had a true sponge-like desire for knowledge. He loved engaging with others in meaningful conversation and often challenged people to think critically in order to help them grow in many different areas of life. Those who knew him will remember his big ideas, sharp mind, and the genuine way he encouraged others to see the world differently. He was deeply loved by many and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his son, Cheminh "Che" Howe of Dahlonega; siblings, Debbie (Phil) Price of Dahlonega, Kenny Howe of Ohio, and Denise (Tim) Peterson of Ohio; his very special friend, "Hanky" of Ohio; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other loved ones who also survive.
Mr. Howe will be cremated, and private family services will be held.
