Carolyn Reeves Payne, age 54, of Buffalo, New York, formerly of Dahlonega, passed away on May 11, 2026. She was born on April 28, 1972.

Carolyn was a devoted mother whose children were the center of her world. She embraced life boldly and authentically, never afraid to be exactly who she was. Whether spending time with her children, caring for her beloved fur baby "Minnie," or heading off on another adventure, Carolyn treasured every moment with those she loved. She never met a stranger and loved stopping in to visit friends and family, often leaving behind a sure sign she had been there, with the porch furniture slightly rearranged. Carolyn's vibrant spirit shined through in everything she did, from her colorful nails and hair to her fun-loving personality.

She is survived by her loving children, Kayla Barbella (Brandon) of Cumming and Johnathon Powell of Gainesville; father and stepmother, Melvin and Joy Reeves; brother, Paul Reeves; and her cherished fur baby, "Minnie". Numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge "T.J." Powell; mother, Joanne Sullens Hughes; and paternal grandparents, Robert and Hattie Reeves.

It was Carolyn's wish to be cremated. Private family services will be held.
