Mr. Cecil Ed "Lightning" Haynes, age 85, of Dahlonega, GA died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Chestatee Regional Hospital in Dahlonega, GA. Mr. Haynes was a Hall County native who had lived in Lumpkin County for many years. He was a retired farmer and was a member of Dewberry Baptist Church in Hall County. He was the son of the late John Milton Haynes and Vina Self Haynes and was also preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Ferguson Haynes; stepson, Ronnie Ferguson; several brothers and sisters. He is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Nanette and Lamar Funderburk, Dahlonega, GA, Carol Lee Haynes, Dahlonega, GA; grandchildren, Jeremiah and Michelle Lance. A number of other relatives also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Haynes are scheduled for 1 PM Friday, November 15, 2013 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega. Rev. Jeff Graham will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dewberry Baptist Church Cemetery in Hall County. The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 5 PM until 9 PM.
