Obituary

Charles Edward Brockett, age 63, of Cumming, passed away on February 28, 2026.

Charles was born on September 13, 1962, in Decatur to the late Arthur Brockett and the late Reba Martin Brockett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Brockett and Michael Brockett.

Charles is survived by his devoted spouse, Sandra Baillargeon; his children, Melissa (Jack) Eidson of Dahlonega, Kenneth (April) Stephens of Cleveland, and Angel Stephens of Cleveland; his sister, Patricia (Buck) Martin of Sparta; his cherished grandchildren, Zoey Baker, Ava Swilley, Caleb Gaines, Jayce Stephens, Jonah Stephens, Desiree (Billy) Sheriff, Tori Woodman, Elijah Jones, and McKenna McCluskey; and his great-grandchildren, Asher Sheriff, Billy Sheriff, and Cameron Sheriff. Numerous cousins, friends, and other relatives also survive.

Charles worked for many years as a residential painter throughout northeast Georgia. He took pride in his work and in providing for his family. Beyond his profession, Charles was a faithful worker for God's Kingdom. He devoted countless hours to ministering in jailhouses across north Georgia, preaching God's Word and sharing his testimony. Nothing brought him greater joy than helping lead someone to the Lord. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, and he dearly loved his church and church family at Christ Fellowship of Dawsonville.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Ricky Woody and the Rev. Craig Woodman will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the service hour at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home to help the family offset final expenses.

Charles will be remembered for his steadfast faith, his servant's heart, and his deep love for his family and friends. His legacy of kindness, compassion, and devotion to God will live on in all who knew him.
