Charly
Perethian
March 13, 1949 – December 2, 2021
Mr. Charles "Charly" Perethian, age 72, of Dahlonega, Georgia passed away in the early morning hours of December 2, 2021, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was comforted by his family as well as many friends in the days leading up to his passing.
Charly was born to Charles Krikor Perethian and Angel (Hamasian) Perethian in Pawtucket, Rhode Island in 1949. He was a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design with a degree in Industrial Design. He got his dream job right out of college as a designer for Vetter Fairing Company in Rantoul, Illinois where he later met his loving wife of 47 years, Brenda Davis Perethian. Charly was a motorcycle enthusiast from a very young age. In his career, he was a successful designer and entrepreneur. He was a Bonneville Salt Flats Motorcycle Land Speed Record Fairing Designer, and Motorcycle High Milage Designer/Competitor. He received many awards including the American Motorcycle Association Brighter Image Award in 1987 and the Inventor of the Year Award in San Luis Obispo, California in 1982. He was an avid rider and National Motorcycle Road Racing Champion. Those who knew Charly the best will always remember him as a proud, devoted husband, father, and 2nd Amendment advocate. He was a kind, humorous, and always positive human being with a soft spot in his heart for animals.
He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda (Davis) Perethian of Dahlonega; sons, Max (Kiley) Perethian (granddaughter Lilah) of Kingsport, TN and Jesse (Rebekah) Perethian of Dahlonega; and sister, Cheryl Olson of Canton. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive.
It was Charly's wish to be cremated. No public services are being held at this time.
