Obituary

Mrs. Christine "Chris" Thomas, age 82, of Dahlonega, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 25, 2024. Born on May 7, 1942, to the late Marley and Arizona Seabolt, Chris was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County, where she dedicated her life to her family and community. She was a long-time member of Yahoola Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and spent many years working at Long Branch Elementary School. She found joy in caring for her yard and her flowers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Price Thomas; daughter Diane Adams; and sons, Joseph and David. Chris's love for her family was evident in everything she did, and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

Survivors include her son Daniel Thomas, son-in-law Ray Adams; brothers Gene Seabolt and Frank Seabolt, sister Faye Shuler; grandchildren Kevin Adams (Ima) and Tammy Adams; great-grandchildren Tyler Adams, Hunter Adams, Austin Rider and Cheyanne Rider; great-great-grandson Zehariah Adams; and friend Susie Waters.

Funeral services for Chris will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lyman Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow in Yahoola Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the service hour.
