Obituary

Clifton "Ben" Mincey, age 76, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026.

Born on April 29, 1950, in Dahlonega, Ben was the son of the late Willene Elliott Rider and the late Gene Mincey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Armor; his sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Sandy Wood; sister-in-law Cathy Beck; and his father-in-law, F. M. Beck Jr.

Ben is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Lynn Mincey of Dahlonega; his daughter and son-in-law, Marisa and Ryan Pierce of Dahlonega; his grandchildren, Kate and Jarrett Clark of Murrayville, and Clayton and Hannah Pierce of Dahlonega; his great-grandchildren, Cade and Callie Clark; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Alton Chastain and Claudine and Henry Armstrong; his brother-in-laws, Junior Armor, Lamar Beck and Larry Beck (Pat); his sister-in-law, Lana Pruitt (David); his mother-in-law, Jean Beck; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.

Ben was widely known throughout North Georgia for his exceptional talent in building high performance engines. His craftsmanship and attention to detail earned him a reputation that extended far beyond Dahlonega, and he took great pride in every hot rod motor he built. A lifelong racing enthusiast, he enjoyed watching races and sharing stories with his friends.

More importantly, Ben never met a stranger. Whether talking with a lifelong friend or someone he had just met, he was always quick to share his testimony and speak about the goodness of the Lord. His unwavering faith was evident in the way he lived his life and in the kindness he showed to everyone he encountered.

Above all else, Ben was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud "Papa". His family was the center of his world, and nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were truly the light of his life. His legacy of faith, love, generosity, and hard work will continue to live on through those who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Siloam Baptist Church. The Reverend Lyman Caldwell and the Reverend Tony Allison will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Reverend Jarrett Clark officiating.
