Mrs. Clyde Marie McCandless, age 97, of Dahlonega passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021.

Mrs. McCandless was born December 6, 1923 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to Joseph Franklin McCandless and Christine Marie Brosnan. In addition to her parents Clyde Marie was preceded in death by her children Patricia Darlene Brosnan, Christina Mae Weeks, Joseph Allen Casson, and Charles Richard Casson.

An only child, Clyde Marie's interests centered on her children and close relatives. She loved reading and she loved her small dogs, Jojo and Manny. Before being stricken with rheumatoid arthritis she loved gardening, walking and attending Bethlehem Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen C. (Bob) Walker of Dahlonega; grand-children, Patrick Walker and Sean Michael Brosnan of Atlanta, Charles "Chuck" Casson of Middleburg, Florida, Sean Joseph Brosnan and Dustin (Kaitlyn) Weeks of Keystone Heights, Florida, Todd Cecil, Camille Casson, and Robert Andrew (Becky) Casson of Northern Kentucky, and Tom Casson of Kalamazoo, Michigan. In addition, she is survived by great-granddaughters Camara Casson and Kynnsley Weeks in Florida.

Special thanks from the family to Donna and Elaine of Kindred Hospice for their attentive and gentle care of Clyde Marie during her final days. She was able to remain where she wanted to be, at home with her family.

As with her deceased children, Clyde-Marie's wishes were to be cremated. No public services are planned at this time.
