Mr. Darrell Waters, age 85, of Dawsonville, passed away Friday, November 10, 2017.

Mr. Waters was a native and lifelong resident of Dawsonville. He passed away in the same house where he was born on February 27, 1932.  He is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Maggie Reece Waters; grandson Jeff Bryan; son in law Roger Bryan; sister Elga Mincey; brothers Dewey Waters and Alton Waters.  Mr. Waters left school at a young age to work the family farm.  He farmed the same land most of his life.  He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife Carolyn Waters, Dawsonville; daughter Lawana Bryan, Oakwood; daughter and son in law Gina and Scott Masters, Gainesville; stepsons David Dodd, Jasper; Randy Dodd, Ball Ground; stepdaughters and sons in law Becky and Wendell Howard, Ball Ground; Stacey and Shawn Teague, Jasper; stepdaughter Brenda O'Neal, Blue Ridge; special granddaughter Elizabeth "Pumpkin" Dodd, Dawsonville; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM Monday, November 13, 2017 in Banister Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jason Hamby will officiate. Interment will follow in Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6-9 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
