David Walter Holtzclaw, age 75, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on January 19, 2024. He was born in Gainesville, Georgia, on December 29, 1948, to the late Walter Holtzclaw and the late Myral Waters Frasure.
David was an avid gardener who loved spending his time outside. As a resident of Gold City Personal Care, he took on the daily responsibility of watering the flowers. David spent his life as a mechanic, specializing in transmissions, at the family business Frasure Auto Service. He loved cars and his all time favorite was his '57 Chevelle. David was known for his funny and kind nature and was loved by everyone who knew him.
Throughout his life, David's favorite indulgence was a cheeseburger with slaw and ketchup from Dairy Queen, especially with a milkshake to wash it down.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Roy Frasure; his daughter, Stephanie Helton; and his brother, Don Waters.
David is survived by his daughter, Caron Holtzclaw; his sisters, Charlotte Smith and Wanda Gilleland; his grandchildren, Grand Anderson and Morgan Anderson; and his great-grandchild, Sunny Anderson.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the cemetery of Wesley Chapel. The Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate, and Military Honors will be rendered.
