Delores "Jeri" Geraldine Hassen, age 91, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

Born on June 26, 1935, in Pennsylvania, Jeri was the daughter of the late Leslie Gwyne Fulton and the late Prudence McDonald Fulton. In addition to her parents, Jeri was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Samuel Hassen, Sr.; her son, Michael Hassen; and her siblings, Gertrude Fowler, Dorothy Karker, and Sheldon Fulton.

She is survived by her children, Samuel Hassen, Jr. of Tennessee, Cheryl (Alvin) Button, of Dahlonega, Georgia, Leslie (Crystal) Hassen of Florida, and Jeffrey (Beth) Hassen of Florida; sisters, Linda Davis and Gwen Nester; grandchidlren Jennifer Spivey, Cheri (Chris) Tritt, Leslie Hassen, Jr., Christopher (Lin) Hassen, Jessica Alleyne, Jeffrey Hassen, Jr., Rachel (Guillermo) Arguelles, and Amanda (Raul) Hassen. She also leaves behind 19 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild extended family members, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Jeri loved her family with all her heart, and they were the greatest joy of her life. She never met a stranger and was known for her outgoing personality, infectious sense of humor, and feisty spirit. Affectionately known as the "fun aunt," she had a remarkable way of making every family gathering brighter and every conversation more enjoyable. A proud coal miner's daughter, Jeri carried with her a strong work ethic, resilience, and an appreciation for life's simple pleasures. She had a special love for cardinals, finding comfort and beauty in their presence, and she was an avid admirer of Dolly Parton, whose music and story she greatly enjoyed.

A Celebration of Life honoring Jeri's life will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 12:00 noon at Roberson Funeral Home in Port Charlotte, Florida. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Venice Memorial Gardens in Venice, Florida. Family and friends are then invited to gather for a time of fellowship and remembrance at 3:30 p.m. at Cody's in Port Charlotte, Florida.
