It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Donna Gilreath Jarrard, age 68, of Dahlonega, Georgia, who passed away on February 13, 2026. She was born on July 29, 1957, in Cobb County to the late Eugene Gilreath and the late Faye Vandiver Gilreath. She was and will always be the embodiment of wife, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.

She touched many lives in her career at Lumpkin County Schools. She made everyone she met feel special.

She also had a very unique gift/connection with animals of all species, and it was mutual, as they grew to know her, they loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Faye Gilreath, as well as her parents-in-law, Harold and Mary Nell Jarrard, and her brother-in-law, Anthony Jarrard.

She is survived by the love of her life, Danny Jarrard; together they lived a 44-plus-year love story; sister and brother-in-law Glenda & Larry Carlson; sister-in-law Carol Jarrard; niece Amy Lovell and nephew Dustin Jarrard; special friends Alfred and Anita Davis and their dog Ellie Mae, Laura and Cameron Holder, Lee Driver, and Dr. Ken Dixon; aunts, uncle, and cousins, all of whom she cherished.

Family/friends were very near and dear to her sweetest heart.

She was taken too soon, but we all take some peace in knowing that she is in Heaven, healthy and happy with our Savior, her family, and all of those pets that she adored… in the words of her husband, "she is headed for the rainbow bridge."

Funeral services for Donna will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Lyman Caldwell and the Rev. Kris Butler will officiate. Interment will follow in the cemetery of Siloam Baptist church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, February 16, 2026, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider sending memorial donations to TLC Humane Society in honor of Donna. Those donations can be sent to 1735 Red Oak Flats Rd, Dahlonega, GA 30533.
