Dorothea Charlotte Fields, age 84, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023. She was born on January 27, 1939 in Berlin, Germany, to the late Herbert Rothkirch and the late Elfriede Schenk.

Dorothea met her loving husband of 63 years, Horace, in Germany when he was in the military. They fell in love, married, and she immigrated from Germany to the United States. As a military wife, she loved to travel. She followed Horace all around the world for the next 26 years of her life, enjoying every moment of it. Upon Horace's retirement, they moved to Dorothea's favorite place- the beach. They enjoyed the next 23 years of their lives together on the shores of Florida. Eventually, they returned to the place they called "home," Dahlonega, Georgia.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael Fields and Michele Lanci-Altomare; and siblings Werner Feist and Wilfred Rothkirch. Numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, June 19, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the cemetery of  Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until the service hour.
