Dorothy "Dot" Allene Lingerfelt, age 78 of Dahlonega, GA passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014. Dot was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County and a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Dawson County. She was retired from Southern Switches as a rivet operator. Dot was a wonderful, loving wife, mother and grandmother whom loved to cook and tending her flower garden. The daughter of the late Vernon and Lula Peck Sullens, Dot is also preceded in death by her son, Ricky Proctor; step-son, Tony Lingerfelt; great grandson, Peyton Wehunt; brother, Joe Sullens and sister, Joanne Sullens. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and a number of other relatives also survive. Funeral services for Dot are scheduled for 3 PM Monday, September 15, 2014 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA. Rev. Corey Ray and Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate. Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church cemetery in Dawson County, GA. The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega from 3 PM until 9 PM, Sunday, September 14, 2014 and 9 AM until time of service on Monday September 15, 2014.
