Mrs. Emily Ellen Garrett, age 71, of Cleveland passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020.

Mrs. Garrett was born on August 7, 1948 to the late Arthur Daniel and Correne Melba Herrin Seay.  She was also preceded in death by her sister Kathy Linda McCollum, and brother Donnie Seay.  Mrs. Garrett will always be lovingly remembered as "Nanny" by her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years Wayne Garrett, Cleveland; daughters and sons-in-law Teresa Ellen and John Reed, Gainesville, and Deborah Ann and Robert Nelms, Cleveland; grandchildren John McDonald, Shelby Reed, Jordan Reed, Joel Nelms, Luke Reed, Calvin Reed, Daniel Reed, and Samuel Nelms; great-grandchildren Savannah McDonald, Dixie McDonald, Chloe Kelser, and Gabriel Kelser; brother Johnny Seay, Cornelia; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery.  The Rev. Austin Kelly will officiate.
