Eugene "Gene" Seabolt, age 86, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 5, 2026.
Born in Dahlonega on October 23, 1939, Gene was the son of the late William Marlie Seabolt and the late Arizona Hatfield Seabolt.
Gene never met a stranger. He had a kind heart, a friendly smile, and a gift for making everyone feel welcome. In his younger years, he enjoyed coon hunting with his friends and made countless memories in the outdoors. He was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Above all, Gene treasured his family and the many years he shared with those he loved.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Patricia Seabolt; his daughter, Kathy (Nicky) Anderson; his son Jason (Kim) Seabolt; his sister, Fay Shuler; his sister-in-law, Annette Seabolt; nine grandchildren, Stephanie Seabolt, Sabrina Seabolt, Maria Roberson, Samantha Seabolt, Savannah Anderson, Lenzie Anderson, Lane Anderson, Holden Seabolt, and Hayden Seabolt; beloved cat, Fred; 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives also survive.
In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his beloved son, Preston Seabolt.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2026, in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Reverend Lyman Caldwell will officiate. Interment will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice in Gene's memory. The family would like to share their gratitude with the VA, as well as the Hospice of Northeast Georgia. The level of care and support shown to Gene and the family will never be forgotten.
