Mrs. Eva Jere Anderson, age 79, of Dahlonega passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018.

Jere was born in Lumpkin County on October 29, 1938 to the late Miller and Iver Jones Rider. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband O.E. Ott Anderson; sisters Mamie Rider, Edith Rider, Flossie Marie Rider, Elise Bair, and Hazel Satterfield; and brothers Henry Rider and Douglas Rider.

After graduating Lumpkin County High School in 1957, she moved to Atlanta where she continued her education and began a career in banking. Jere returned to Dahlonega in the early 1970's and began a new career in cosmetology. She was a member of Hightower Baptist Church. Above all, Jere loved the Lord with all her heart.

Survivors include her sisters Bobbie Kimmel and Ann Cook, and brother Ricky Rider, all of Dahlonega; special friends Marvene Grizzle, Vicki Burns and Evelyn Waters; and her best friend and Shih Tzu, Penny Rose.  Although Jere did not have any children of her own, she considered her nieces and nephews and their families as her children.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the chapel of Banister Funeral Home. The Reverend Steve Barrett, the Reverend Lyman Caldwell, and the Reverend Tony Allison will officiate. Interment will follow in Hightower Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
