Mrs. Florence Maude Whelchel, age 83, of Pensacola, Florida, formerly of Dahlonega, passed away on December 31, 2021 at her residence. She was a former CNA at Gold City Nursing Home and retired from Fieldale Farms after 25 years of service. Florence was strong in her faith and was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Gainesville when she lived in Dahlonega.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, J.D. Whelchel. She is survived by her sons; Samuel Whelchel (Andrea), Rancho Cucumonga, CA, and Michael Whelchel (Terrian) of Pensacola, brothers; David Tillmutt, San Antonio, TX, George Tillmutt, Gainesville, GA, Kenneth Tillmutt and Pop Tillmutt, both of Jamaica, sister; Ruby Meadows of Jamaica, grandchildren; Jada Whelchel, Los Angeles, CA, Aiden Whelchel, Rancho Cucumonga, CA, Michael, Brandon and Jasmine Whelchel, all of Pensacola, FL, nephews; Tyrone Anderson, Athens, GA, Dino, Donald and

Ernest Anderson, all of Dahlonega.

A church service was held for Mrs. Whelchel in Pensacola on Sunday, January 9, 2022. Private graveside services were held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Dahlonega Memorial Park with Rev. Kris Butler officiating.
