Mr. Gary Lee McClure, age 55, of Dahlonega, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at his residence.

Gary was born in Pickens County on September 14, 1961.  He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Berry; grandparents, Walter and Delsey Goss McClure; and brother, Willie McClure.  Gary had a great love for fishing and hunting. His two favorite Bible passages were Psalms 23 and John 3:16.  Gary was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother, Minnie Landers, Murrayville; brothers, Wayne McClure, Cleveland; Charlie Painter, Junior Painter, both of Murrayville; Johnny McClure, Dalton; William McClure, Gainesville; sisters, Mary Jane Painter, Lola Painter, Shirley Painter, Dorothy Painter, all of Murrayville; Dina Lynn Painter, CA; Ruthie Green, Helen Smith, Janie Marchbanks, all of Gainesville; Nancy Hamilton, Cleveland and Gladys McClure, Maysville.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Mill Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Tim Pruitt will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 P.M. Tuesday and all day Wednesday at the funeral home.
