Gavin Lyle Jones of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on September 24, 2023, at the age of 48. He was born on February 19, 1975, in Cumming, Georgia, to Shirley Helton Jones and the late Vernon Jones.

Gavin was an exceptional individual, a quick friend to all he encountered. He was always there to lend a helping hand.

Professionally, Gavin was the proud owner and operator of Jones Hauling. For many years, he hauled loads in his dump truck all across the beautiful landscapes of North Georgia, leaving a lasting impression on the community he served.

In addition to his mother, Shirley Helton Jones, Gavin is survived by his siblings, Timothy Marshall Jones (Debra Jones) and Beth Jones Sanford (Danny Canupp); nieces and nephew Breanna Parris, Brandon Jones, Danni Canupp and Caroline Crocker; aunts and uncle Deborah Bond (Thomas Bond) and Runell Helton; cousins Joe Bell, Chris Helton, Robin Bell, and Sherrie Helton. He is also survived by a very special friend, Jeremy Fitts.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home.
