George D. Ross, age 71, of Dawsonville, Georgia, passed away on August 23, 2026.

George was born on March 31, 1955, in Georgia to the late Frank Ross and the late Cindy Eller Dover. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wylene Stokes, and his brother, Bradley Ross.

George was a free spirit who lived life in his own way. He loved to fish, camp, and spend time outdoors. He was a hard worker who took pride in staying busy and working with his hands. George will be remembered by those who knew him for his independent spirit, love of the outdoors, and the memories he made along the way.

George is survived by his children, Pamela (Bobby) Pierce of Florida, Frank (Joni) Ross of Cleveland, Leroy Ross of Dahlonega, Sandra (Lamonte) Wooten of Gainesville, and Anthony Rider of Dahlonega; his siblings, Shirley Tavira, John Ross, Diane (Jerry) Minter; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and other loved ones.

In accordance with George's wishes, he will be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
