Glyndon Davis Williams, age 81, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026.
Glyndon was born on October 24, 1944, to the late Clarence Williams and the late Lorene Smithwick Williams. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved his family deeply. Above all else, Glyndon was a family man. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and cherished the family he and his wife built together. His wife, Jean, was truly the light of his life.
Glyndon was married to his loving wife, Jean Williams, for 62 years. Together, they shared a lifetime of memories, raising their family and building a legacy that will continue through the generations.
For 43 years, Glyndon dedicated his life to building and promoting his ministry here in Dahlonega, Freedom Ministry. Through the years, his ministry touched countless lives and provided encouragement, faith, and fellowship to many throughout the community. Glyndon also had a passion for music and used his ministry to help promote and encourage numerous singers and songwriters. His dedication to serving others and sharing his faith left a lasting impact on many people.
In addition to his parents, Glyndon was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Hood and her husband, Johnny; and his brother, Wendell Williams.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Jean Williams of Dahlonega; his children, Glen Williams and his wife, Elaine, of Dahlonega, David Williams of Dahlonega, and Jeannie Brannon and her husband, Mitchell, of Dahlonega; special friends, Kenneth Seager and Jane Chadwick; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and fourteen great-great-grandchildren.
Glyndon will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his devotion to his wife, his heart for ministry, and the many lives he touched throughout his 43 years of service. His legacy will live on through his family, his ministry, and the countless people who were blessed to know him.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Kenneth Seager and Michael Rollins. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
