Mrs. Hazel Ruby Pruitt, age 85, of Dahlonega passed away Monday, September 7, 2020.

Mrs. Pruitt was born in Franklin County on June 1, 1935 to the late Charles and Bertha Lee Etris Dockery. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Caris Dockery, and sister Margaret Moose. Mrs. Pruitt worked at Burlington Industries and then retired after a long career with Southern Switches. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Pruitt loved collecting angel glassware, shopping, and especially yard selling.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Eugene Pruitt; son and daughter-in-law Glyndon and Kimberly Pruitt, all of Dahlonega; daughter and wife Connie Pruitt and Patricia Cocciolone, Lilburn; grandchildren Anthony Pruitt, and Alexandra and Dylan Jones, all of Dahlonega; brother Vernon Dockery, Cleveland; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Hazel's caregivers Valarie, Lariza, Sheila, Ashley, and Stacey.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Cavenders Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Stephen Adams and the Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. The family asks that if you attend the visitation or funeral to please wear a mask.
