Mr . Herbert Richard Adams, age 72, of Dahlonega, passed away Friday, August 25, 2017.

Mr. Adams, a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County, was born on December 8, 1944 to the late Claude and Nell Black Adams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Elmer Adams.  Mr. Adams was a retired saw miller and a member of Hightower Baptist church.

Survivors include his wife, Larue Adams; sons and daughters in law, Hank and Mandy Adams; Hawk and Nadeane Adams; Waylon "Ham" and Marlene Adams;  Hunt and Martha Adams; daughters and sons in law, Hollie and Craig Poore; Alice and Gene Bagwell; daughter, Lillian Adams; sister, Bessie English; grandchildren, Justin Adams, Tommy Adams, Dillon Adams, Jonathan Adams, Haylee Bagwell, Levi Adams,  Andrew Adams, Westley Adams, Emmalyne Bagwell, Sydnee Poore, Clay Poore, Jesse Adams, Caleb Bagwell, Kearstin Adams, Joshua Adams, Hunter Adams, Robert Adams, and great grandson, Grayson Adams, all of Dahlonega.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Monday, August 28, 2017 at Hightower Baptist Church. The Rev. Terry Fields and The Rev. Corey Ray will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-9 P.M. Saturday and all day Sunday at the funeral home.
