Honey Gwen
West
Mar 31, 1972 — Jul 2, 2026
Mrs. Honey Gwen West, age 54, of Cleveland, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, July 2, 2026.
Honey was born on March 31, 1972, in Demorest, Georgia, to James and Becky Caudell. She faithfully served as Vice President of Charlie West Pottery, working side by side with her husband, Charlie, whose life and work were forever intertwined with hers. Wherever Charlie was, Honey was never far behind. Together, they built not only a business but a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and love.
A devoted member of Chattahoochee Baptist Church, Honey faithfully served as the church Treasurer. Throughout her life, she joyfully served the Lord in countless ways, from ministering to children, to singing in the choir, to quietly meeting the needs of others behind the scenes. She never sought recognition, only another opportunity to serve the One she loved. Honey's gratitude for each day was evident in the way she lived, and her quiet faith spoke louder than words ever could.
Honey loved Jesus with all her heart. Her life reflected His grace, kindness, and compassion so naturally that many could say of her what was once said of the early disciples, "they knew she had been with Jesus." Her joyful spirit, gentle smile, and genuine concern for others brought comfort wherever she went. She lived a life that pointed people to Christ.
Nothing on earth was more precious to Honey than her family. She poured herself into the lives of her children, not only by providing for them but by being present, volunteering at school, cheering them on, encouraging them, and loving them with an unwavering, unconditional love. Becoming "Gigi" to her grandson, Rhett, brought her immeasurable joy.
Honey also loved her church family and was deeply committed to the mission of Christ. She faithfully embraced the Great Commission, believing every believer was called to make disciples and share the hope of the Gospel. Her service was marked by humility, consistency, and a heart that desired to glorify God above all else.
Charlie often treasured the truth of Proverbs 18:22, "He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord." Honey was truly God's gift to him. She exemplified what it means to be a godly wife, a loving mother, a devoted daughter, a caring sister, and a faithful friend. Her family treasured her beyond words, and her influence will continue for generations.
For several years, Honey courageously battled cancer with remarkable faith and quiet strength. She celebrated seasons of remission while facing each new test with steadfast trust in the Lord. On Thursday, she received the healing she had long awaited, not through medicine, but through the presence of Jesus. She laid aside a body weakened by illness and entered into perfect health, where her faith became sight, her race was finished, and every pain was forever gone.
Honey's legacy is one of unwavering faith, selfless service, sacrificial love, and steadfast joy. Though she will be deeply missed by all who knew her, those who loved her rejoice in the promise that they will see her again.
She is survived by her beloved husband of thirty-six years, Charlie West; daughter and son-in-law, Morgan and Curtis Folsom of Athens; son, Joe West of Cleveland; grandson, Rhett Folsom; parents, James and Becky Caudell of Demorest; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shawana and Jeff Loden of Gainesville, and Kim and Greg Chitwood of Cleveland; along with several nieces, nephews, and many other cherished relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Chattahoochee Baptist Church. Rev. Chris Anderson will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chattahoochee Baptist Church Mission Fund, 7905 Duncan Bridge Road, Cleveland, Georgia 30528.
