Mrs. Iva Lee Gooch, age 93, of Suches, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026.

Mrs. Gooch was born in Suches, Georgia, on April 4, 1932, to the late Fate and Fanny Tow. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Tom" Hoyt Gooch, Sr.; son, Thomas "Hoyt" Gooch, Jr.; sisters, Joyce Tow Roper and Berty Lou Tow; and brother, Aulden Tow.

Mrs. Gooch was a beloved mother and was affectionately known as "Nanny Iva Lee" to her family. She retired from Pinetree (Burlington Industries) after many years of dedicated service, where she formed many lasting friendships. Mrs. Gooch was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Stanley Cochran and Cindy and Mickel Jarrard, all of Dahlonega; sister, Lois Tritt of Marietta; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Sandra Bailey (Jerry) of McDonough, Mary Mayfield (Jesse) of Buckhead, and Pauline Tow of Cleveland.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church in Suches, Georgia. Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Friendship Health and Rehab, Attn: Activities Department, 161 Friendship Road, Cleveland, Georgia 30528.

The family wishes to publicly express their deepest gratitude for the love and care shown to Mrs. Gooch by the staff at Friendship Health and Rehab. They also extend heartfelt thanks to Friendship Hospice, especially nurses Terri and Vonn, who will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
