Mr. James Albert Jarrard, age 87, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. He was born in Lumpkin County on December 11, 1935, to the late Albert and Janie Gerrells Jarrard.

James was a long-haul truck driver who enjoyed traveling and seeing all the beautiful places the road took him. He never met a stranger and truly lived life to the fullest. He was of the Baptist faith and was a longtime member of Siloam Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his loving wife, Chris Jarrard; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Mildred Jarrard; brother, Carl Jarrard; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Mary Nell Jarrard.

He is survived by his best friend and companion, Donna Lindsey of Dahlonega; daughters, Diane (Jacky) Ray of Murrayville, Melissa (Randy) Howard of Ringgold, and Tammy Jarrard of Chattanooga; sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise and Loy Saine and Sue and C.L. Grizzle; sisters, Ruth Head and Ann Jarrard; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Valerie Jarrard; sister-in-law, Era Jarrard, all of Dahlonega; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives also survive.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, April 8, 2023, from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Funeral services will follow the visitation, at 3:00 PM at Siloam Baptist Church. The Rev. Tony Allison and the Rev. Stephen Gerrells will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
