James A. Satterfield, age 78, of Dahlonega, GA died Wednesday, April 22, 2015 following a period of declining health. James lived most of his life in Lumpkin County. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of Hightower Baptist Church in Lumpkin County. He was the son of the late Noah and Lillie Lance Satterfield and was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Martin Satterfield; daughter, Teresa Day; several sisters and two brothJames A. James is survived by daughters, Connie Clark, Jasper, GA and Vickie Tritt, Dahlonega, GA; sons, Anthony Satterfield, Cumming, GA and Danny Satterfield, Gainesville, GA; brothers, Marcus Satterfield, Jasper, GA and Charles Satterfield, Gainesville, GA; sisters, Montean Clark, Gainesville, GA, Beverly Cowart, Clarkesville, GA, and Brenda Sue Putnam, Canton, GA. 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and a large number of other relatives also survive. A graveside funeral service is scheduled for 3 PM Friday April 24, 2015 at Hightower Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County. Rev. J R Fields will officiate. The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Friday April 24, 2015 from 1 PM until service time. Online condolences may be made at www.banisterfuneralhome.net.
