Mr. James Gerald Smith, age 58 of Dahlonega, Georgia passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022. He was born on February 24, 1964 in Philadelphia, PA to Edna Broomhead Smith and the late Thomas Norman Smith. James was an avid sports fan and could always be found rooting on Philadelphia, regardless of the sport. He always enjoyed visiting the beach in Avalon, NJ and above all, spending time with his family.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Smith.

James is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Karen Johns Smith of Dawsonville; step children, Michael (Denyse) Trump and Zachary Johns (Madelyn Zavala), all of Cleveland; children, Ryan (Sara) Smith of TX, Maddison Smith of NY, and Noah Smith of Cumming; mother, Edna Smith of PA; siblings, Michael Smith of PA, Lisa (Joe) Bonner of PA, and Allison (Dave) Kasten of MD; his best four legged friends, Copper, Charlie, and Marley. Numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive.

Services are being planned in Philadelphia and will be announced at a later time.
