James David Webb Sr., age 78, of Lithonia, GA and formerly of Dahlonega, GA, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016.

James was born March 1, 1938 in Dahlonega, GA. He was employed at the University of North Georgia for many years. James served in the United States Army.

James was the son of the late Harvey and Blanche Riley Webb and was also preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Lou Mayes; brothers; Harvey Webb Jr., and Willie Frank Webb; and grandson, James Webb III.

He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, James and Dwelver Webb, Lithonia, GA, Jeffrey Webb, Atlanta, GA, Jerry and Cynthia Webb, Lithonia, GA; daughter, Janice Webb-Ellison, Atlanta, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, Thomas Albert Webb, Rev. John Paul and Susie Webb, and Freddie Lee Webb, all of Dahlonega, GA; sister, Nellie Rosetta Jarrells, Flowery Branch, GA. 17 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends remain to mourn his passing.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Banistr Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Rev. John P. Webb will officiate.

Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery in Dahlonega, GA.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Friday from 10 AM until 2 PM.
