Mrs. Janice Cantrell, age 73, of Dahlonega, Georgia passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021. She was born on October 18, 1947, in Roanoke, Alabama to the late Oliver Quintal and the late Catherine Jackson. She was a member of Dahlonega Church of God. Janice spent the majority of her life loving others and caring for them, extending her home to many children in the Dahlonega area as an in-home daycare. Many of those children know her and will remember her as "Nana" or "Gigi".

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Annissa "Jody" Payne; siblings, Suzanne Chandler, and Tony Brown; as well as her ex-husband of 32 years and father of her children, George "Pep" Cantrell.

She is survived by her children, Twana (Benjie) Whitey of Dawsonville, George (Audrey) Cantrell of Cumming, and Tina (Ray) Boynton of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Christopher (Candice) Cantrell, Chelsey (Tannis) Pritchett, Jessica Cantrell, Sarah Whitey, Nickie (Trevor) Lee, Kate Mead, Nate Payne, and Caleb Tyler; and 12 great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home with Rev. Marty Darracott officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the service hour.
