Mr. Jerry Dillard Self Sr., age 74, of Dahlonega passed away Monday, December 16, 2019.

Mr. Self was born in Suches, GA on June 2, 1945 to the late George Washington and Lillie May Tow Self.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Christopher George Self; brothers and sisters-in-laws Alvin and Faye Self, Charlie and Sue Self; sister and brother-in-law Georgia Mae and Clyde Spradley.  Mr. Self loved music and could play any instrument.  He enjoyed spending time going fishing, ginseng hunting and going to any kind of car racing.  He especially loved his pitbull "Lulu".

Survivors include his daughter Tina Cook, Dahlonega; daughters and sons-in-laws Julia and Riley Ray, Dahlonega, Linda and Ronnie Howell, Dahlonega; sons and daughters-in-laws Timothy and Susan Self, Michigan, Jerry D. and Angela Self, Dahlonega; son Jerry Dillard Self, Dahlonega; daughter-in-law Melissa Self, Dahlonega; brother Ted Self; sisters Dorothy Parison and Lena Ash; 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, December 19, 2019 at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home.  The Rev. Chris Gilbert will officiate.  Interment will follow in Dahlonega Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 5:00 PM – 9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
