Mr. Jerry Wilburn Strawn, age 88, of Lyons, formerly of Dahlonega, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 24, 2024. He was born in Atlanta on September 28, 1936, to the late William Abram and Evalina Strawn. He was preceded in death by all of his siblings, leaving behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and dedication.

Mr. Strawn proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard, demonstrating his commitment to his nation. He was a hard worker and provider, spending many years with Thomas Sales Company, where his dedication and work ethic were admired by all who knew him. Mr. Strawn was also a distinguished member of the Blue Mountain Masonic Lodge #38, where he had the honor of serving as a Past Master.

He is survived by his loving wife, Harriett Strawn of Lyons; his children, Robin Carraway (Bill) of Monroe, Jay Strawn (Terri) of Lawrenceville, and Michael Strawn (Deann) of Ludoici; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will cherish his memory forever.

A Masonic Rite service will be held in his honor on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at 10:30 AM in the chapel of Anderson Underwood Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens in Snellville, GA. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until the service hour  on Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Community Helping Place Food Pantry, 1127 Hwy 52, Dahlonega, GA 30533, in his memory.
