Mr. Jewell Lingerfelt, age 94, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2025.

Mr. Lingerfelt was born on March 17, 1931, to the late Jerry Lingerfelt and the late Nebraska Rider. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of many years, Dorothy "Dot" Sullens Lingerfelt; his children, Tony Lingerfelt and Ricky Proctor; and his siblings, Marty Lingerfelt, Jerry Lingerfelt, and Bill Lingerfelt.

Jewell is survived by his children, David (Yvonne) Lingerfelt, Janet (Freddie) Chapman, Tracy Lingerfelt, Therell Lingerfelt, Sheila (Benny) Watson, Jason (Sherrie) Lingerfelt, Freddy (Barbara) Proctor, Donald Proctor, and Cheryl Stuck; his siblings, Roy Lee (Ruth) Lingerfelt, Clora Miller, Barbara Lingerfelt, and Mary Lingerfelt. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren also survive.

Mr. Lingerfelt was employed at Big Canoe for 40 years, where he served faithfully as a groundskeeper. A farmer at heart, he loved working the land and did not officially retire until the age of 90. Jewell was known for his kind, gentle, and forgiving spirit. Above all, he deeply loved his family and was devoted to them throughout his life.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, October 31, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the cemetery of New Hope Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
