Mr. Jim Gable, age 76, of Murrayville passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2020.

Jim was born in Hall County on January 12, 1944 to the late Clinton and Willie Jo Hill Gable. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Wallace Gable, Ralph Gable, Bobby Gable, and Johnny Gable; and sisters Patsy Savage and Lou Elliot. Jim had worked and retired from The University of North Georgia then went on to work and retire again from Walmart. He was a great provider for his family and a loving husband, father and grandfather. His grandchildren lovingly called him "Pop". Jim was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Marlene Gable; son and daughter-in-law James William and Belinda Gable, Dahlonega; son Jerry Augustus Gable, Murrayville; grandchildren Clark Gable, Devin and Cheryl Gable, Tasha Hicks, and Colt and Caroline Gable, Brooke and Nik Medlock; nine great-grandchildren; sisters Ida Mae Tanner, Peggy Haynes, Hazel Craven, Martha Tow, and Billie Young, all of Gainesville.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, July 10, 2020 at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry Goss and Minister Amy Reems will officiate. Interment will follow in Solid Rock Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
