Anderson - Underwood Funeral Home announces the passing of Joan Smith Hawk, age 92, of Gainesville, Georgia on June 16, 2020. Joan was born on May 11, 1928 in West Union, Ohio to the late James D. Smith and the late Roberta Crawford.

In addition to both parents, Joan is preceded in death by her loving husband of many years, Karl W. Hawk, Jr.

She is survived by her children, Karl (Teresa) Hawk of Gainesville, Karen (Kelly Smith) Hawk of Salem, South Carolina, Kathi C. Hawk of Decatur, Georgia, and Kyle (Susan) Hawk of Berthoud, Colorado; and sister, Judy Ireton of Dayton, Ohio. She is also survived by four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Hawk's wishes were to be cremated. A private family service will be held out of state at a later time.
