Mr. Johnny Rider, age 83, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025. Born on October 6, 1942, in Dahlonega, he was the son of the late Homer Rider and the late Anna Dover Rider. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mitchell Rider.
Johnny is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Bonnie Rider; his children, Keith Rider and Anna Rider; grandchildren, Skye Weber (Ben), Marti Almond, Wendy Rider, and Patton Rider; and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Sue Wilson, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.
Johnny was known for his generous spirit and his unwavering willingness to help anyone in need—if you called, he'd be there in an instant. He had a deep love for the outdoors and found great joy and peace in fishing, spending countless hours by the water. A man of integrity and kindness, Johnny will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 22, 2025, in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lyman Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow in the Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
