Mr. Junior Dock Grizzle, age 83, of Dahlonega passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021.

Mr. Grizzle was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. He was born on March 3, 1938, to the late Dock Verlon and Beatrice Seabolt Grizzle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Grizzle, son James Allen Grizzle, niece Joni Flynn, and nephew Chris Grizzle. Junior served his country honorably in the United States Army. He retired from Burlington Industries (Pinetree) after forty-five years of dedicated work. Mr. Grizzle was a quiet man who loved to draw and read. He was also a gun enthusiast. Mr. Grizzle was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Dewey Wright; brothers and sisters-in-law Kimmie and Lisa Grizzle, and Dennis and Ann Grizzle, all of Dahlonega; niece Debbie Lomax (Jerry); nephews Jeremy Grizzle (Tracie), and Brandon Grizzle; and several other relatives.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, August 20, 2021, at Macedonia Baptist Church. The Rev. Lyman Caldwell and the Rev. Junior Abernathy will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
